Christine Dobbyn

Christine Dobbyn is a multiple Emmy award-winning television journalist who has covered some of the biggest stories around the world in the last decade and a half. Before coming to Rice Business she reported on events from the Royal Wedding in London, the Pope’s visit to Cuba, the Beatification of Pope John Paul II at the Vatican, the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico, along with hurricanes Harvey, Ike and Katrina. Her interviews have included President George H.W. Bush, President George W. Bush, Secretary of State James Baker and former leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev.

After catching the “bug for business” mid-career, she was drawn to Rice after covering many stories on campus, noting its academic reputation, brilliant faculty, and overall network. Christine is currently managing her own company, Dobbyn Digital Media LLC, an agency specializing in media relations, strategic communications, and content development for companies.

The Texas transplant says she is thrilled to be co-hosting “Owl Have You Know” and adds, “I’m honored to have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with Rice Business alums, faculty and students and share their stories. As someone who has produced content for years, I know the value it brings to everyone who consumes it. It’s an excellent way to connect the entire Rice Business alumni network as well as to the University as a whole.”
