Search Criteria
Clipper Capital Partners is a search fund formed to provide investors with the opportunity to participate in the staged financing for the identification and acquisition of an existing private company with initial enterprise value between $7 and $20 million. Clipper Capital Partners intends to finance the acquisition through a combination of bank debt, subordinated debt, seller financing and investor capital, which may include subordinated debt, preferred stock and common stock.
Clipper Capital Partners will focus the search on businesses meeting the following criteria:

• Minimum EBIDTA margin of 15%
• Minimum EBIDTA of $1.0 million
• Business to business technology, media, or healthcare services
• Ability to generate 30% compound annual return on investor capital
• Nation-wide search

About Us

Hank Dallam has joint ownership of Clipper Capital Partners LLC. He earned a Political Science degree from the University of Kentucky and will be completing his graduate studies in May of 2017, earning an MBA from Rice University. He currently works as a Senior Project Manager for Tesoro Corporation, a Fortune 75 company, which is an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products. Hank’s experience lies in process analysis, management of change, and strategic operational planning. In his current role on the corporate Business Improvement team, Hank coaches Lean Six Sigma projects and leads post-acquisition integration efforts. Prior to joining Tesoro, he served in the US Army as an infantry officer, where he quickly learned how to lead in ambiguous situations. Prior to joining the Army, he worked as a Finance Analyst for the U.S. Department of Energy, where he helped to commercialize energy efficient and renewable energy technologies.

Austin Thompson has joint ownership of Clipper Capital Partners LLC. He earned an Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. He currently works as the Senior Manager for Capital & Project Controls for Tesoro Corporation, a Fortune 75 company, which is an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products. Austin brings a wide range of experience in project & risk management, finance & capital portfolio management, post-acquisition integration, sales and Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP and Oracle) system design and implementation. He is responsible for establishing the Capital and Project Controls department for a newly incorporated Tesoro Logistics, and has become the subject matter expert on capital for the organization. Prior to joining Tesoro, Austin worked for Mustang Engineering where he was responsible for the financial success of industry leading engineering and design projects ranging from $20MM-$1BN+ in capital expenditures. Throughout his career, Austin has also managed work for international clients while learning to adapt in a fast paced, cyclical energy industry. Through these experiences, Austin has an established reputation as someone who does what it takes to reach the goal.
