Kari Mullen

Kari Mullen began working for Rice University in 2013. She is the associate director overseeing business operations for Executive Education at the Jones Graduate School of Business. She has a deep appreciation for organization, clear communication and detailed planning, and is committed to her work because it contributes to the powerful and transformative learning experiences provided by Rice Business.

Before joining Rice, Kari was an early elementary school teacher. Her undergraduate degree was earned at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, and she earned a master’s in higher education from the University of Houston in 2023.

Kari and her husband Lach live on the campus of Rice University serving as Resident Associates at Wiess College where they support Rice undergraduate students as learners and leaders throughout their college careers.

Off campus, Kari enjoys spending time with her daughter, son-in-law and twin grandsons. Having grown up on the West Coast, she enjoys all things outdoorsy, especially camping, snowboarding and hiking. She is also an enthusiastic road-tripper and especially enjoys visiting national parks and college campuses along the road.
