Kevin Giddins
Senior Architect of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, NRG
Kevin serves as Senior Architect of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at NRG, where he is responsible for developing corporate infrastructure that supports the creation of a working environment that ensures emotional intelligence, diversity, equity and inclusion, and psychological safety as well policies, practices, and programs that foster an active, engaged, and diverse workforce.
With over 30 years of experience in the DEI training and organizational behavior and development world, Kevin has worked for several human-learning and organizational development solution companies, including FranklinCovey, Vital Smarts, Whitefield Strategy, Spencer Johnson’s Who Moved My Cheese, Shipley Communications, BlueEQ, and co-founder of Sunlight Works. His training and consulting experiences span various industries such as health care, manufacturing, automotive, hotel and resorts, parks and recreation, state and governmental agencies, and technology.
Kevin has also had several opportunities to bring his wealth of expertise to the classroom. He began his career in academics at Ohio University’s College of Fine Arts, General Education, and Business School as a member of the faculty. Following his time at Ohio University, Kevin was employed as an associate professional faculty member at the Marriott School of Management where he received honors for creating and developing the MBA Academy for the Brigham Young University MBA Program. Additionally, he has developed and delivered learning experiences at Salt Lake Community College, Weber State, Utah State, BYU- Idaho, and the University of Utah.
Kevin has a Master of Arts from Brigham Young University - College of Health and Human Performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University in Fine Arts and Interpersonal Communication.
Fun Fact: CBS Morning News featured Kevin’s DNA journey, through which he found his biological mother, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. From this experience, Kevin has solidified his family tree dating back to 1798 to the plantation where his family was emancipated in ~1803.
